Nowadays,China is facing the challenge of the international system transformation.A good national image can create an international atmosphere conducive to the development of our country,and political marketing can provide new ideas for shaping a good image of China.The writer selects the first two chapters of Campaigns That Shook the World as the source text.The source text is an exposition related to political marketing taking Thatcher's and Blair's election campaign in Britain as examples.Although many people have translated the expositions,there are not few people who translate expositions about political marketing,and there are no translation reports based on this kind of exposition.The writer first introduces political marketing and summarizes the characteristics of the source text.Reiss' text type theory is used to guide the translation of exposition related to political marketing.Reiss' text type theory requires that the text type should determine translation methods.From the perspective of Reiss' text type theory,the writer adopts translation methods and techniques to translate the source text at the lexical level and syntactic level.The writer adopts established proper nouns and annotations to translate proper nouns;adopts methods of literal translation,zero translation and annotating to translate abbreviations;adopts the method of free translation to translate metaphorical words;and adopt the method of omission to deal with the redundant pronouns at the lexical level.The writer adopts methods of reversing and splitting to translate simple compound sentences;adopt method of imitation and free translation to translate parallel compound sentences at the syntactic level.The translation of the text will help readers understand the political marketing,and provide reference for the future translation of the texts related to political marketing.
