| Online games have played an important role in the entertainment and leisure lives of more and more people.While providing entertainment and relaxation,they have also brought a series of problems,which have attracted widespread attention,namely online game addiction.In order to alleviate the harm of online game addiction,extensive research has been conducted in the academic community.As a form of behavioral addiction,borrowing from other intervention methods for addiction is also a theoretically feasible solution.Research has shown that various types of addicts exhibit delayed gratification deficits and are more likely to make impulsive choices,as do individuals with online game addiction.Positive anticipatory imagination refers to the ability of individuals to imagine future events that can bring positive emotional valence,usually related to themselves;Negative anticipatory imagination refers to allowing individuals to imagine an unpleasant event that may occur in the future.The positive effects of positive anticipatory imagination on drug addiction,obesity,and other factors have been verified,but there is relatively little research on exploring the positive effects of anticipatory imagination as an intervention measure for online game addiction on online game addiction prone individuals.The impact of negative anticipatory imagination on individual impulsivity has not yet been determined.Some studies believe that anticipating negative events will improve individuals’ impulsive sexual selection,while others have the opposite result.Therefore,it is necessary to further explore the impact of positive anticipatory imagination on individuals with online game addiction,and whether negative anticipatory imagination will have different effects on them.This study starts with this,and examines the impact of anticipatory imagination on the impulsive sexual selection of online game addiction prone individuals in the intertemporal choice task from the behavioral and ERP levels.Experiment 1 consisted of 85 participants,using a mixed experimental design of 2(subject type: online game addiction tendency group,normal control group)╳ 2(anticipatory imagination: no anticipatory imagination,positive anticipatory imagination).The subject type was an inter subject variable,and anticipatory imagination was an intra subject variable.Using money intertemporal choice task,positive anticipatory imagination task and money intertemporal choice task including positive anticipatory imagination,this paper explores the impact of positive anticipatory imagination on the impulsive sexual selection of online game addiction prone individuals.All behavioral data was analyzed using SPSS.The results showed that(1)after positive anticipatory imagination,the impulsive sexual selection of online game addiction prone individuals was significantly reduced;(2)Compared with the control group,online game addiction prone individuals have more impulsive sexual selection,but there is no significant difference.Experiment 2 had a total of 64 participants,using a mixed experimental design of 2(subject type: online game addiction tendency group,control group)╳ 3(anticipatory imagination: no anticipatory imagination,positive anticipatory imagination,negative anticipatory imagination).The subject type was an inter subject variable,and anticipatory imagination was an intra subject variable.Money intertemporal selection tasks were used,with positive anticipatory imagination.A study on the negative anticipatory imagination task and money intertemporal choice task including expectation imagination;the influence of positive anticipatory imagination and negative anticipatory imagination on the impulsive sexual selection of online game addiction prone individuals.All behavioral data was analyzed using SPSS,and EEG data were analyzed for EEG data using the MATLAB R 2019 b and EEGLABtoolbox2021 and ERPLAB toolkits..The results showed that(1)after positive anticipatory imagination,the impulsive sexual selection of online game addiction prone individuals was significantly reduced,while after negative anticipatory imagination,the impulsive sexual selection of online game addiction prone individuals was significantly increased;(2)Compared with positive anticipatory imagination,no anticipatory imagination and negative anticipatory imagination induce larger N1 amplitudes.Impulsive individuals exhibit larger N1 amplitudes when facing visual stimuli,indicating that positive anticipatory imagination can significantly reduce their impulsivity;(3)Compared with no anticipatory imagination,positive anticipatory imagination and negative anticipatory imagination induce larger P2 amplitudes,indicating that emotional stimuli attract more attention from individuals.In general,this study can draw the following conclusions through two experiments:(1)There is no significant difference in the impulsive sexual selection of online game addiction prone individuals and the control group;(2)Positive anticipatory imagination can significantly reduce the impulsive sexual selection of online game addiction prone individuals,while negative anticipatory imagination can significantly improve the impulsive sexual selection of online game addiction prone individuals. |
