English reading teaching plays an important role in cultivating students' comprehensive language ability.With the deepening of the new curriculum reform,the traditional one-way transfer mode of "full-room irrigation" and "asymmetric" for teachers has been questioned because of its single mode and poor effect.Various kinds of reforms for classroom teaching mode have also emerged.In view of the fact that traditional reading teaching pays much attention to teaching and neglects students' classroom participation and interaction,Therefore this study attempts to introduce classroom workshops into primary English reading teaching,and explores the significance of classroom workshops in primary English reading teaching and the ways to achieve it.Classroom workshops mainly refer to a teaching method or method in which students work and think together circle a common theme.Teachers do not directly participate in the discussion process of students.But in this process,teachers need to guide students to communicate so that students can accomplish their learning tasks or goals independently.The application of classroom workshops in English reading teaching in primary schools will help stimulate pupils' interest in English reading,enrich pupils' perspective on English reading,deepen pupils English reading comprehension,exercise pupils' English communicative competence,and enhance pupils' problem awareness;At the same time,it will help to renew teachers' teaching concepts,enrich English reading teaching forms and enhance teachers' English reading ability.In order to validate the effectiveness of classroom workshops in English reading teaching in primary schools,this study takes the sixth grade students of G Primary School in G District of Wuhan City as the experimental subjects,and conducts a four-month experimental study from September 2018 to January 2019 by using the methods of literature,educational experiment,questionnaire and interview.The experimental results show that the classroom workshops have better effects on the learning atmosphere,learning interest,learning behavior,learning outcomes and learning satisfaction of primary school students than the control class.At the level of learning atmosphere,the influence of classroom workshops on pupils' English reading learning atmosphere is better than that of the control class.The concrete manifestation is that classroom workshops not only mobilize students' learning initiative,activate primary school English reading classes,but also close the distance between teachers and students,and harmonize the relationship between teachers and students.At the level of learning interest,the influence of classroom workshops on pupils' interest in English reading learning is better than that of the control class.There are two aspects: one is that classroom workshops can enhance students' interest in English reading by creating reading atmosphere,selecting reading texts and creating interesting reading classes;the other is that classroom workshops stimulate students' reflection and imagination by ingeniously putting forward problems,difficult situations and then guiding students to discover problems independently.At the level of learning behavior,classroom workshops have a better effect on pupils' English learning behavior than control classes.Specifically,the influence of learning behavior before,during and after reading in classroom workshops is better than that of control classes.Before the beginning of the reading: According to the guide sheet designed by the teacher,the students initially perceive the content of the reading text and develop the ability of autonomous learning.By seeking help from teachers and team partners,the students solve the difficulties of reading background knowledge and prepare for the next stage of learning.During the process of while-reading: teachers use "maternity skills" to ingeniously raise questions,guide students to actively ask questions,and actively discuss with the partnerships in the workshop to share views,exchange information,so that reading information can be shared between the workshop and the workshop.During the process of post-reading: Teachers provide students with opportunities to fully show themselves,guide workshop members to share reading results,students make full use of individual sparks of wisdom and collective torches of wisdom,and enhance the ability of cooperative learning and self-presentation.At the level of learning outcomes,the impact of classroom workshops on pupils 'learning outcomes is better than that of control classes.Specific performance in four aspects: classroom workshops enable students to gain overall reading knowledge about the kingfishers,master a variety of reading methods,deepen the understanding of reading text knowledge,and adopt a variety of reading evaluation methods to evaluate reading results.At the level of learning satisfaction,the impact of classroom workshops on pupils' learning satisfaction is better than that of control classes.In the semi-open interview after class,students expressed their satisfaction with the reading course in the classroom workshops.In addition,Through the change of students' learning behavior,we can reflect on the change of teachers' teaching behavior.classroom workshops promote teachers' English reading teaching,which is manifested in renewing teachers' English teaching concepts,enriching teachers' English reading teaching forms and improving teachers' English reading teaching level.Of course,in the experimental study,we also found that the effective realization of the significance of classroom workshops in primary school English reading teaching still needs some support,including school management level: to properly control class size,provide technical support for teachers' curriculum reform,create a cultural atmosphere for teachers' classroom reform;in the level of teaching,multiple teaching methods should be combined and emphasized.At the level of students' development,there are higher requirements for students' cooperative awareness,autonomous learning and control ability.At the level of school cooperation,the establishment of home-school cooperation is an important guarantee for the smooth implementation and development of classroom workshop teaching.
