Reading is an important language skill of English and it must be improved for English learners.English is a fresh and interesting course for primary school students.So teachers should stimulate students' English learning motivation in English teaching in the primary school.Students should form a good English reading habits.However,English reading teaching activities are difficult to carry out in traditional English teaching due to lack of teaching time,teaching resources and teaching conditions.In recent years,many kinds of English picture books are published in China and deeply loved by more and more children.English teachers realized that English picture books can play an important role to cultivate students' reading ability and used in English classes.But,after all,it's a new thing,so many questions are worth exploring and studying.For example,How to combine English picture books with English textbooks? How to carry out English picture books reading teaching? What is the effect of English picture books reading teaching? Can English picture book reading teaching stimulate students ' interest in English reading and improve students' English reading results?"Experiment Research on English Picture Books Applied in English Reading Teaching for Primary School" is the topic of this study.I will adopt some research methods like classroom observation,interview,English test papers to explore whether English picture books reading teaching can improve primary school students' English reading interest and English reading results.A 3-months teaching experiment was done by the author.The subject of this study were 80 students from Class one and Class two in Grade 4 from a primary school in Xin Ye county,Nan Yang City,He Nan Province.Class 1 was the experimental class and Class 2 was the control class.During this period,In addition to have six English classes(English textbooks learning)at school,the students of Class one in Grade 4 are also add an English picture books reading teaching class every week.The students of Class two in Grade 4 are always have seven common English classes every week(English textbooks learning).At last,the research results show that English picture books reading teaching can arouse students' interest in English reading.It can also improve the English reading results.
