A Study On The Marriage Folk Music Of A Zhe Branch Of The Yi Nationality

A Zhe Department is a branch of the six ancestor branches of the Yi people who moved to Guizhou and took Muege as the ruling center.His ancestor,Tuoazhe,was regarded as king of Luodian by the late Han Dynasty because he helped Zhugeliang in the Southern March of the Shu Han Dynasty(in 225 A.D.)(1),and enjoyed the ruling power of Muege,Muege full name for Mukuabaizhaguo,that is,Dafang County(2).As a result of Tuoazhe great achievements,their descendants are known as the A Zhe Department.After settling down in the center of Muege,A Zhe Ministry developed and established the famous tribal leader regime in the history of Yi nationality,and thus became a branch of the tacit system that could not be ignored.Kangxi(1699)had no right to inherit children after the death of his last monarch,Anshengzu,in 37 years.As a result,the Shuixi regime of A Zhe branch,which was ruled by Muege for 1,474 years,disintegrated as a result of the reform of the land and the return to the river.Although the regime disintegrated,the masses of people in the branch of A Zhe still took Muege as the central area of their life.The marriage customs of the branch of Muege-A Zhe were various and wonderful,and the music of marriage customs was primitive and simple,which was of great research value.As the center of politics and culture in the past,the culture of the Muege region is a microcosm of the history and culture of the whole branch,which makes the marriage music of the A Zhe branch of the region extremely representative.Therefore,the author has set the point of study area in the Muege region,which is the epitome of the history and culture of the whole branch.It is hoped that through the study of the marriage custom music of Muege A Zhe branch,it will be possible to do so.See the cultural connotation contained in the marriage custom music of the whole department of A Zhe.Using the theory and method of ethnomusicology and on the basis of on-the-spot field investigation,this paper makes a careful analysis of the first-hand data and analyses the marriage customs and the music of marriage custom in order to make an objective and detailed description of the marriage customs and the music of marriage customs.Combining the historical literature of Yi nationality with the field investigation,this paper applies the theory of anthropology to grasp and interpret the rich cultural connotation contained in the marriage custom music of Muege under the double dimensions of history and field.
