A Report On The E-C Translation Of TN001EN Patents Law No. 2000-84

With the deepening of China's opening up and the further development of science and technology,China attaches more importance to the protection of patents,which is bound to be inseparable from the studies and references of patent laws of other countries.In order to let more people know about foreign patent laws and enrich our translation practices and researches on legal translation,especially on patent laws,the author has decided to choose TN001 EN Patents Law No.2000-84,a complete and authoritative patent law with 10,560 English words in total,as an research object to write a translation practice report.This report consists of four parts: translation project introduction,translating process description,case analysis and summary.The first part includes the background and significance of the project as well as text analysis.The second part describes the translating process,mainly composed of pre-translating preparation,difficulties in translation and quality assurance.The third part,the key one of this practice report,analyzes and explores four difficulties in details of translation cases from lexical and syntactic levels under the guidance of Three Dimensional Transformation of Eco-translatology.In the last part,the author summarizes four aspects of professionalism of a translator and the limitations in this practice.The author hopes that this translation practice report can provide some references for legal researchers,businessmen and translation practitioners,so as to promote the further development of patent law translation researches and practices.
