Translation Practice Report-a Case Study On E-C Translation Of Logistics Specification Of Foreign Enterprise

The economic globalization has vibrated the global business,bringing in more frequent communication and cooperation among enterprises.The issue of optimizing the supply chain has always been a top priority concerned by enterprises across the world.Logistics serves as an essential part of the supply chain,and the Logistics Specification includes all the requirements and regulations related to the logistics.Based on the E-C translation project of Logistics Specification,the report elaborates the translation process,translation problems and the solutions.The translation practice report begins with the introduction,which outlines the project background,project significance,text features and the requirements of the client.The second chapter introduces the translation process and the third one records the post-translation items,mainly about the proof-reading process and the evaluation of the client.The fourth chapter,serving as the main body of this report,is the case study,in which the text features of the translation material are analyzed and the translation problems and some corresponding translation methods are elaborated.The translation problems are divided into two categories,the lexical and the syntactic.Lexically,it mainly concerns how to translate the abbreviations and jargons accurately and professionally.Syntactically,it highlights the translation methods including the adjustment of voice and order of the sentence as well as the disposal of sentences with adverbial clause and the complex English sentences.This report is written to pass on some experiences and provide some inspirations for translators who may deal with similar translation in future.
