This translation report is based on an English-Chinese translation task.The original text is selected from Text Analysis in Translation written by Christiane Nord,one of the representatives of German functional translation school.On the basis of functional concept,the author proposes a translation-oriented text analysis model,and the model is based on the discourse linguistics and text type theory.By analyzing the source text,translation learners can understand the specific functions of the source text and choose the translation strategy that suits the purpose of the translation.The first chapter of the second part of the book elaborates the theoretical principles of the text analysis model,which is of great significance to the translator's translation learning and practice.This report contains five chapters.The first chapter is an introduction,which introduces the reason for choosing the translation project,the research significance and the research content of this report.The second chapter is the task process,elaborating the details of preparation,translation and revision respectively.The third chapter explores the problems of translating words and sentences in the process of translating English into Chinese.The main problems are: word omission,word meaning deficiency,improper meaning selection,improper word order arrangement,stereotyped voice conversion and misjudgment of modification scope.In the fourth chapter,some corresponding solutions are given in relation to the problems described in chapter three.The fifth chapter is a conclusion that summarizes what the author has learned from the translation project.
