With the growing trend of global internationalization,English teaching plays an increasingly prominent role in education.English teaching in primary schools is of great significance to children's English learning and improvement of their comprehensive quality.As the initial stage of English learning,English teaching in primary schools has attracted wide attention of most educators.At present,it is difficult to stimulate students' interest in English learning and improve their ability only by relying on teachers' teaching in the classroom.Parents' support and participation are indispensable in order to attain the effect of doing more with less.However,there are still deficiencies in the cooperation among families,teachers and schools in the current English teaching,to some extent,which influence the effect of home-school cooperation in English teaching,thus reducing the efficiency of students in English learning.This paper takes G Primary School in Wuhan City as the research object,through the questionnaire survey and interview survey to parents of the students in Grade 3-6 and English teachers in the school,to understand the current situation of home-school cooperation in English teaching in primary schools,find out the existing problems through the collation of date,analyze the reasons,and on the basis of referring to the research results at home and abroad,put forward corresponding countermeasures and suggestions to carry out home-school cooperation in English teaching.The paper is divided into six parts.The first part is an introduction.In this part,the author introduces the origin,purpose and significance of the research,and summarizes the four aspects of foreign home-school cooperation,home-school cooperation in primary schools in China,English teaching in primary schools in China and the influence of home-school cooperation on students in English learning,leading to the following research content.In the second part,the author defines the relevant concepts,and takes constructivism theory,social capital theory and joint responsibility theory as the theoretical basis of this study after in-depth thinking and analysis.In the third part,the author takes G Primary School in Wuhan City as an example to investigate the current situation of home-school cooperation in English teaching in some primary schools of our country.The data obtained are analyzed from four aspects: parents' and teachers' understanding of home-school cooperation,parents' and teachers' cooperation methods and frequencies,parents' and teachers' cooperation contents,and parents' and teachers' educational concepts.In the fourth part,the author analyzes the existing problems of home-school cooperation in English teaching in G Primary School in Wuhan City from three aspects: parents,teachers and schools,and makes attribution of the problems.In the fifth part,the author puts forward corresponding improvement countermeasures from three aspects of parents,teachers and schools on how to improve the quality of home-school cooperation in English teaching in primary school.In the last part,the author makes a brief analysis and summary of the conclusions and deficiencies of this study.The smooth development of home-school cooperation is helpful to improve the traditional education mode in our country,enhance the teaching quality of teachers,promote the management level of schools,and give full play to the assisting role of families in school education,thus helping students to develop in an all-round and healthy way.The author hopes that this study can be helpful to teachers engaged in English teaching and further promote the enthusiasm of parents and teachers to cooperate to promote the efficient development of home-school cooperation in English teaching in primary schools.
