Research On The Inheritance Of The Yi Epic Meige

Meige,the Yi people's creation epic,comprehensively reflects the history,customs,religion and folk beliefs of the Yi ethnic group.It has rich national cultural connotations and exerts a profound impact on the social life of the Yi people.It's also an "encyclopedia" of the Yi people,which has passed down the culture of the Yi ethnic group through word of mouth in the form of "brain texts".In Ma You,known as the hometown of Meige,Meige has become an essential part of people's daily life.This paper takes Meige as the research object,and makes a analysis of the cultural ecological environment,the ways of inheritance,the fields of inheritance,the status quo of inheritance and protective measures of the Meige Epic from the perspective of folklore based on previous research results and the author's own field investigation.The ultimate goal is to promote the Meige Epic to be better inherited and developed,and improve people's confidence on national culture.This thesis consists of the following five parts:Part ? is the “Introduction” which mainly expounds the inheritance of Meige Epic to prepare for further analysis.In this part,the literature referred to is presented,the topic is made clear,the research object and method are determined and the research summary about Meige is outlined.Part ?(Chapter ?)introduces the implication of the Meige Epic,makes classification in accordance with the epic's contents and expounds the cultural and ecological environment in which the Meige Epic is composed and inherited.Part ?(Chapter ?)analyzes the traditional and modern inheritance ways of the Meige Epic.The traditional ways mainly include family inheritance,master to apprentice inheritance,ceremony-based inheritance;the modern ways include text-based inheritance,landscape inheritance,exhibition and performance inheritance,training inheritance and multi-media inheritance.One similarity existing in both ways is the wide usage of oral teaching.Part ?(Chapter ?)analyzes the inheritance field of Meige Epic,which is composed of sacred field and routine field.The former one includes sacrifice occasions and funeral ceremonies,in which the Meige Epic is inherited through chant of “Chimeige” by Bimo.The latter filed includes wedding and other activities in which the epic is inherited through chant of “Fumeige” by singers and Bimo.Part ?(Chapter ?)analyzes the current situation of inheritance of Meige Epic in different groups from the perspective of "the culture holders" and "cultural workers" on the basis of epic analysis and investigation,and also puts forward corresponding protective measures.
