The translation material of this practical report is selected from the European Union Legal Net,and the source text is a directive on procedural safeguards for children who are suspects or accused persons in criminal proceedings.It is a statute of the legal text.The main content includes the whereas clause of the procedural safeguards,as well as the relevant rights and specific implementation methods under the Directive.It aims to protect the legitimate interests and rights of children in the judicial process.Due to the particularity of legal texts,it is necessary to ensure the accuracy and standardization of the translation.Translators has analyzed the content and language features of the source text in detail,conducts the translation practice under the guidance of text type theory,and adopts translation techniques such as amplification,omission and shift to solve the translation difficulties in the translation process,including the translation of legal terms,the translation of modal verbs,the translation of passive voices,and the translation of long sentences.This translation practice report is divided into six parts,which are task description,text analysis,preparation before the translation,analysis and solutions in the translation process;quality control,and summary and reflection.Through this translation practice,the translator has studied the translation of legal texts,and further understood the translation methods of laws and regulations,so as to provide reference for future legal translation.
