| This thesis is a translation report about Marbury V.Madison case. The case was the product of the contradiction and struggle between the two major factions within the ruling class of the United States at that time. The federal judicial review system established in this case is of great significance in the history of constitutionalism, especially in the establishment and improvement of constitutional principles and systems. With the advance of the "Belt and Road" initiative and the further deepening of reform and opening up,more and more Chinese companies have begun to operate abroad, and foreign companies have also come to China to set up branches. This leads to a growing demand for legal English talents in China. This is why the author chooses this case as a translation project for his graduation design, and writes a translation report on it to describe the actual problems encountered in the translation practice. It is hoped that the practice and the report can improve the author’s translation competence and offer some help for the exchanges and study in the field of legal English. This report includes four parts: task description, process description, case analysis and conclusion. The first part introduces the content of the selected material and the significance and purpose of the translation practice. In the second part, the author makes a detailed introduction to pre-translation preparations, theoretical support, and problems met in the translation process. Then the author carries out case analysis at lexical, syntactic and textual level under the guidance of text typology theory in the third part. Finally, experience and lessons gained from the translation practice are introduced in the last part. |
