Translation Of Biography From The Perspective Of Feminist Translation Theory

The feminist translation theory was developed with the rise of feminist movement.This paper studies the translation of Women of the World-The Rise of the Female Diplomat from the perspective of feminist translation theory.Three major translation strategies of the feminist translation,i.e.supplementing,prefacing and footnoting,and “hijacking” are analyzed with examples.These analyses shed light on the use of different feminist translation strategies in the translation of biographies.It is hoped the study will lead to a feminist perspective to the translation of biographies.
