A revolutionary change is taking place in the teaching mode under the background of information technology.As a new teaching mode and teaching resource,micro-lecture has been favored by more and more educators.Micro-lecture not only satisfies students' personalized study and development,but also enriches the teaching content and curriculum resources.It also promotes the professional development of teachers.In China,micro-lecture has been widely used in English teaching in junior middle schools.Therefore,we should pay attention to some problems,such as the influence and problems on teaching,the attitude of teachers and students as well as the effect of application and so on during the process of using.Based on this,the study mainly adopts the literature analysis method,the questionnaire method and the interview method to select 202 English teachers in the ten junior middle schools as the subject of the questionnaire.The author interviewed six excellent English teachers at the same time.The study explored the practical usage of the micro-lecture in the English teaching of junior middle schools from the purpose,the content,the way and the effect of the usage.Through the questionnaire survey,it found that most junior middle school English teachers have a higher recognition of the usage of micro-lecture in English teaching.Young teachers,English teachers in public schools and English teachers in grade 1 have higher recognition of micro-lecture.In view of using purpose,English teachers mainly use micro-lecture to enrich the teaching content,maintain students' strong desire for knowledge,complete the teaching presentation and improve the students' learning ability in different types of classes.In view of using content,English teachers often use knowledge-based micro-video resources,which are usually recommended and shared by colleagues.In addition,teachers often use Camtasia Studio to record knowledge-based micro-lecture.In view of using content,teachers often use micro-lecture in grammar class,and the frequency of using micro-lessons before class preparation and after-class review is higher.In view of using effect,English teachers think that micro-lecture plays an important role in the abundance of teaching content,the improvement of students' interest in English learning and the promotion of the communication and interaction between teachers and students.At the same time,the investigation also found some problems,such as errors in the correct understanding of the connotation of micro-lecture in junior middle school English teachers,low usage rate of daily teaching,teachers' mere attention of the usage of micro-video resources and the general technical level of making micro-lecture.It is found that teachers lack the understanding of relevant teaching theories of micro-lecture.The use of micro-lecture is only used to complete the teaching demonstration(such as participating in micro-lecture competitions,open classes,etc.),and there is less time to use micro-lecture under pressure for further studies.Teacher's active use of micro-lecture is less frequent,the school lacks systematic support of micro-lecture resources and there is no technical training related to the production of micro-lecture.In order to promote the further usage of micro-lecture to assist English teaching,this paper puts forward corresponding suggestions: Firstly,strengthening and perfecting the construction of micro-lecture teaching mechanism,which includes strengthening the support of micro-lecture in English teaching,perfecting the training mechanism of English micro-lecture and formulating the standardized target evaluation system of English micro-lecture.Secondly,establishing the system of micro-lecture teaching organization,which includes establishing micro-lecture teaching research and development team,improving the awareness of micro-lecture teaching and improving the level of making micro-lecture teaching videos.Thirdly,strengthening the construction of micro-lecture teaching resources platform,which includes the establishment of regional micro-lecture resource management system,the establishment of school-based micro-lecture teaching resources database and the establishment of inter-school micro-lecture resources sharing platform.
