This article examines the effect of different learning modes of multimodality on Chinese L2 noun classifiers via two experiments. The result of the experiments showed that: Firstly, compared with the single-modality input of plain text, the multimodality input of the image plus text can obtain a short-term stimulating effect, but after one week, there is no significant difference of the promotion effect between these two different input modes.Secondly, adding the output process of "writing" or "speaking" to the multimodal input of the picture plus text can significantly promote the maintenance of the classifiers learning.Thirdly, the difference between “reading and writing” and “reading and speaking” is not significant in the overall stimulating effect, but both have their advantages respectively.“Reading and writing” helps to increase the number of classifiers in a short time, and is beneficial to the synergy of Chinese writing, improving the writing level of classifiers."Reading and speaking" is beneficial to the maintenance of the classifiers learning, while the time spending on teaching is less.Teachers can select different multimodal learning modes according to specific teaching objectives.
