The Method acting theory is a theory of drama and film performance based on the Stanislavsky system and combined with the American native culture.Its appearance has changed the overall style of American drama and film performing arts,and it has also had a profound impact on the drama and film performances of world.This article is based on the Method acting as the main research object,through the source,birth,development and its main performance theory,to make some sort of sorting out,to find some ideas for the development of Chinese drama performance.Therefore,it is related to the research on the drama performance system in China.Because the main performance theory of the China is also based on the Stanislavsky system.Therefore,the author hopes to make some comparisons between the two,and finally try to find some inspirations for the development of Chinese drama performance.The first chapter mainly discusses the inheritance and development of the Stanislavsky system in the United States,taking the Moscow Art Theatre as an example.Discuss the impact of the Stanislavsky system on the establishment of the Method.At the same time,it expounds the evolution of the Method,with the germination,establishment,divergence and subsequent development as the entry point.The second chapter takes the main representative of the first and second generations of the Method as examples,such as Strasberg,Adler,Meissner,Hagen and others.It will discuss their respective development and innovation of the Stanislavsky system.Then analyze and discuss their important performance theories.The third chapter begins with the Chinese school's exploration of modern drama performance art,and discusses the reasons and process of the establishment of modern Chinese drama concept.Then it takes the main representatives of the two factions in the north and the south as an example to discuss the important contributions of Chinese dramatists to the development of Chinese drama theory inthe modernization of drama.Although the research directions of their development of dialogue dramas are different,they all move forward toward the nationalization of drama.The fourth chapter focuses on the comparison between the two performance schools in China and the United States.In this way,we can examine the similarities and differences between the development trajectory,performance principle,genre style and stage image creation.In the fifth chapter,under the premise of the above-mentioned research on traceability,analysis and contrast,the author has seen the theoretical achievements of the two schools of China and the United States in developing the Stanislavsky system.Then the author starts from the aspects of the authenticity,creativity,creative quality and improvisation of the performance,and discusses some theoretical and practical enlightenments that can be used for the development of Chinese drama performance in the Method performance theory.
