In recent years, with the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative,Xi'an,the starting point of the Silk Road, has gained increasingly important international influence. This practice report, based on the C-E translation practice of the Annual Report on Culture of Shaanxi(2018)(hereinafter referred to as ARCS(2018)),focuses on the translation of terms with Chinese characteristics extracted from ARCS(2018)in particular. This paper first builds a small glossary of the terms with Chinese characteristics, categorizes them into four major groups, analyses the linguistic features and summarizes the problems encountered in the process of translation. The paper,by reviewing the relevant research findings, proceeds to seek solutions to the translation problems in the frame of reference to Jef Verschueren's adaptation theory and explore how to make dynamic adaptation to linguistic structure, cultural context and communicative context so as to make up for the cultural blank and differences at various levels between the source language text and the target language text, expecting to seek appropriate translation methods to satisfy the communicators' demands, publicize traditional Chinese culture in a better way and provide certain references for C-E translation of terms with Chinese characteristics in the future.
