At present, most of the researches on the relationship between mood and aggression focus on the relationship between certain mood types(such as anger, sadness)and explicit aggression, but less on the relationship between mood and implicit aggression. In addition, because mood is the emotional state that everyone experiences all the time, researchers tend to ignore its direct impact on the aggression, and few studies use it as an independent variable to explore its impact on the aggression.Based on the above discussion, this study aimed to explore the impact of induced mood on aggression. The results on the relationship between self-esteem and aggression are quite controversial. Some researchers believed that people with low self-esteem are more likely to have anti-social emotions and attack behaviors, because they treat things more negatively and pessimistically;there are also researchers believed that people with high self-esteem are more adventurous, because they are easy to be impulsive and to attack. These contradictions indicate that there is no simple interrelationship or causal relationship between self-esteem and attack. Therefore, this study is based on the uncertainty of the relationship between self-esteem and aggression, the stability of self-esteem,we further explores how induced mood affects the aggression, the intermediary role of self-esteem.The study 1 focuses on the relationship between the three variables and initially explores the mediating role of self-esteem between induced mood and aggression.Study1 used 2(emotion: positive / negative)×2(self-esteem: implicit self-esteem / explicit self-esteem)internal experimental design.Firstly, the IAT and the Rosenberg explicit self-esteem scale were used to measure the implicit self-esteem and explicit self-esteem of 57 subjects respectively, and then the video clips were used to induce the subjects' mood, the IAT and The Buss-Perry Attack Behavior Questionnaire measures the implicit and explicit attacks of the participantsrespectively,to explore how mood would affect the aggression, and whether self-esteem plays a mediating role between mood and aggression. The results of this study showed that the level of explicit aggression in negative emotion-induced state was significantly higher than that in positive emotion-induced state.Explicit self-esteem was a complete mediator between mood and explicit aggression. In addition, there is a significant positive correlation between explicit self-esteem and explicit aggression. The above results indicate that emotional changes will directly affect explicit aggression.Subjects with different levels of self-esteem will experience changes in explicit aggression after experiencing the same mood.In the first study, the questionnaire was used to measure the change of the explicit aggression, and the relationship between the three variables was explored. In the second study of the research, the study was conducted on 70 subjects, and the Chili Sauce Experimental Paradigm was used to measure the change of the explicit attack.Study 2is consistent with the study1,and the final results indicate that the experimental method and experimental conclusions are valid. In addition,Study 2 concluded that explicit self-esteem was significantly negatively correlated with explicit aggression.Study 1 and Study 2 show that mood can directly affect explicit aggression, and can also affect explicit aggression through explicit self-esteem.The significance and innovation of this research is to verify the mediating effect of self-esteem between emotional induction and attack by different measurement methods, and to ensure the objectivity and accuracy of the experimental results. In addition, this study laid a theoretical foundation for further exploring the relationship between induced mood, aggression and self-esteem;it deepened the understanding of college students' mood, aggression and self-esteem.
