Hannah Hoch(1889-1978)is a representative of the Berlin dada artists,in the last century in the society dominated by white men,her identity is often questioned by the art historian and critic and marginalized,until the 80 s,her identity as a dada artists became widely attention in the United States and Germany.She has developed a unique artistic language in her creation,and her use of artistic media and techniques of expression are both metaphorical.Her subversive created a lot of collage art,and the most outstanding contribution is to create a montage of photography,the art of this emerging technique broke the art forms and practices in the past is relatively single,challenge the old ideas of traditional art media,her works use a variety of ready-made images and text construct dada appearance,not only to the industrial civilization and the related social reality sharp satire,and metaphor in the later works of feminist her identity issues on gender,race,talk to,through the analysis of the works,To interpret her complex interwoven nodes of gender,identity and so on.This paper takes Hannah hoch as the research object,and takes the perspective of metaphor as the entry point,trying to analyze the deep meaning behind her artistic texts under the huge symbolic empire she provided for us,so that we can see the "real" world behind her works as much as possible.The thesis is divided into four parts: first,the theoretical interpretation of metaphor and visual metaphor and pave the way for the next chapter to intervene in Hanna hoch's works.Secondly,it analyzes and introduces the social background and the uniqueness of the media she uses.The third part,focusing on her work "metaphorical" concrete representation,including to refine object-image signs of language and the use of symbols,imagery,and combined with the semiotics theory to analysis presents the meaning of the symbols of image in the works,the interpretation that Hannah hoch "metaphorical" in the works of art eventually point-identity.
