Collection And Research On The Seal Of Yan State In Warring States Period

The seal has important academic value,which covers many aspects,such as political system,geographical evolution,surname culture,ideology and so on.The official seals of various countries had great differences in form structure and writing style in during the Warring States period.The seal of Yan also has own style in form of structure,Chinese characters and the habit of using Chinese characters,which has strong regional characteristics.In recent years,the research achievements of seals in the warring States period are endless,but compared with other departments,the research progress about seal of the Yan is relatively slow,thus it is necessary to systematize the research on the seal of the Yan state,not only make up for the vacuum about research in this regard and also correct mistakes of ancient book.This thesis made a comprehensively collected,researched and analyzed of the seal of Yan system during warring States period,which on basis of fully absorbing the achievements in previous studies.Moreover the paper takes the compilation of Ancient Seals as the main research material,and also collects the Yan-series imperial pottery collected from other works,such as the compilation of Ancient Seals,the Integration of Seals unearthed in the 20 th Century and so on.This paper from many angles and levels,discusses the official name,surname culture,geographical evolution and ideology of Yan system seal of the warring States period.The main contents are as follows:The first part is the introduction,which briefly introduces the general situation of the research about the seal of Yan state in the warring States period,while discusses and generalizes detailedly the research features of the official name,surname,geographical name and so on.Furthermore making a simply analyse present situation and deficiency on the basis of existing research results.In the end,this paper come up with the significance,research methods and content.The second part is the main body of this thesis,of which consists of four chapters.The first chapter systematically classifies and arranges the Yan official ancient seals which is divided into administrative,military,industrial,agricultural,diet,granary,judicial,traffic,city official and so on.For dubious seals are listed in other categories at the end of this chapter.The second chapter focuses on 158 kinds of surnames found in Yan's private seals.Among them,according to the classification of the family name,there are 48 species with the family name as the surname,37 with the place name of the township as the last name,and 33 with the word father as the last name.There are 16types with the title and name of the title,and 24 with the last name in other way.In the third chapter,making a record and research with 48 geographical names on the seal of Yan.This section includes four summary.The first section introduces the research data about geographical names on Yan Seals,and the second section make a study on the geographical names of Yan state,such as Wenan(??),Rongcheng(??)and Summer House(??).The third section is some geographical names to be tested,there are a total of 30 places.The fourth section is the summary of yan geographical names,which discussed the methods of collecting Yan seals geographical names from the perspectives of documents,ancient characters and archaeological sites,a index table attached.The fourth chapter is the arrangement and research of Yan idiom seals,which includes 78chapters,including 32 Jiyu(??)seals and 48 Zhenyan(??).The first part discusses the Yan Jiyu(??)seals from the perspectives of self-cultivation,code of conduct,and admonition,and the second part explores the Yan Zhenyan(??)seals from the perspectives of family development,health and longevity,wealth,and official career,and so on.Through the preliminary study,it can be found that the Yan seals is the carrier of expressing people's thoughts and rich feelings,and thus can be found further the rich spiritual world of Yan people.The main contents of body are as follow: firstly,attach the list of Yan seals to the relevant contents according to each chapter,provide the convenience for further research work;secondly,list those who have doubts to wait for research at the end of each chapter;thirdly,make the interpretation of the seals text with the use of common characters.In addition,processing research work on the basis of summarizing the past achievements.The third part is conclusion,which summarized the view point,achievement and related problems about the Yan seal in warring States period and evaluated its disadvantage and defects.
