Nowadays,with the advocacy of the competences education,more and more educators increasingly care about the key competences of English.With the rapid development of globalization,people begin to realize the importance of cultivating students' cultural awareness.Meanwhile the newly enacted “High School English Curriculum Standards”(2017)has also received unprecedented attention,it clarifies the curriculum objectives of high school and the cultivation of key competence in English teaching.Cultural awareness,as one of the important components of key competences of English,reflects the importance of it in high school English teaching.The teachers always pay more attention to teaching the knowledge of English and ignore the cultivation of students' cultural awareness.So higher requirements have been put forward for English teaching,it is urgent for teachers to pay attention to the cultivation of students' cultural awareness.This research is based on the theory of the relationship between language and culture from the perspective of the key competences of English.In order to find the current situation of students' cultural awareness training in high school,the author makes a questionnaire survey of 100 students and an interview of 5 teachers before the start of the experiment,and realizes that the current status of the cultivation of cultural awareness is still weak.Meanwhile,the influential factors of students' weak cultural awareness is also analyzed.In order to know whether the target language-mother tongue culture interaction model has influences on cultivating students' cultural awareness,the author selected two parallel classes taught by the same teacher as the experimental subjects from the senior year of No.2 Middle School in Puyang City,Henan Province,and implements nearly four-month experiment.In the experimental class,the target language-mother tongue culture interaction model is carried out by the teacher,and the traditional teaching model is still used in the control class.After the experiment,the changes of students' pre-test and post-test,which finally prove the effectiveness of the new teaching culture model.In the end,it proposes some suggestions on the implementation of the new culture model,andhoping that this research can provide some references for the high school English teaching.
