Since the reform and opening up,China's economy has developed rapidly,and the Chinese film market has opened the door to the United States.In order to obtain the Chinese market with huge development potential,American film has obtained the box office rate of the movie,and has comprehensively developed Chinese cultural resources in the film.Chinese scenery,Chinese traditional culture,and Chinese stars have entered American movies.However,in the use of Chinese cultural elements,in order to cater to the aesthetic tastes of American audiences and Western audiences,the United States arbitrarily codes Chinese cultural elements according to the language,logical thinking and values of American culture,leading to a “misreading” of Chinese culture.This article takes the cultural phenomenon of "misreading" of Chinese culture in American movies as the main clue.It analyzes the main features and causes of the "misreading" of American culture on Chinese culture by enumerating the research methods combining film examples and theoretical analysis.And related solutions.This article is divided into five chapters.The first chapter is the introduction,introducing the research background,research status and research methods at home and abroad.The second chapter is the relevant theoretical interpretation of "cultural misreading",explaining the concept,category and important theory of "misreading".The third chapter analyzes the case of "misreading" of Chinese cultural elements in American movies,from the Chinese "individualism" in American movies,Chinese heroes,Chinese family and marriage.The fourth chapter reflects on the above discussion and explores the causes of cultural misreading,as well as the impact of cultural misreading and makes recommendations.Chapter V,the conclusion section.
