Recent years have witnessed people's growing will towards learning Chinese and the rapid enhancement of China's comprehensive national power.In such circumstances,TV programs aiming on Chinese spreading,like the “Chinese Bridge”,have gradually come into privilege among enthusiasts worldwide.The thesis conducts an interdisciplinary research into Chinese spreading TV programs from both communicational and educational points of view,filling up the lack of the scale of this research area.The thesis also advocates that the multi-variant,entertaining,and competitive nature of the TV program shall inspire educators of Chinese international education to enrich teaching methods in class to improve teaching and learning.Focusing on 17 th Chinese Bridge Competition,the thesis comprehensively adapts the methods of interdisciplinary research,documentary analysis,comparative research and theoretical analysis.The thesis also analyzes the dissemination effect of Chinese Bridge from both “Uses and Gratifications” theory and a self-established evaluating system that takes four dimensions,like the audience rating,total view counts,ALEXA ranking of its website and number of searching results in prevailing search engines,into consideration.Based on the results,the thesis concludes with the relationship between Chinese spreading TV programs and conventional second-language acquisition,summarizes feasible problems existing in Chinese Bridge and put forward optimizations respectively.Also,enlightenment for Chinese educators is brought up.A specific classroom-teaching demo,which fully takes advantages of the competition,is then introduced.
