Social Worker Service Strategies For Short-term Hospitalized Children With Psychological Crisis

For children,whether long-term or short-term hospitalization,medical treatment itself is a stressful event and a painful experience and memory.Congenital heart disease is a typical disease requiring short-term hospitalization,and it is also the first disease of birth defects in China.Children with congenital heart disease in the short term often experience sudden,strange,high pressure,pain,clinical medical history,the personality development is not yet mature,crisis response mechanism is not yet perfect children,is undoubtedly a huge body-heart trauma,urgent need of medical social workers to use professional knowledge to help them through the crisis.In order to further improve the professionalism and initiative of medical social work in the intervention period of psychological crisis for children with short-term serious diseases in the hospital,this study attempts to start from the perspective of crisis intervention and take the hospitalized children with congenital heart disease as an example to discuss the social worker service strategies for short-term hospitalized children with psychological crisis.In this study,the case study method and the service mode of medical game counseling were used to timely intervene the psychological crisis problems of three children with congenital heart disease with typical characteristics in hospital Y,in order to explore the appropriate ways and effects of medical social workers' intervention in the psychological crisis of short-term seriously ill children in hospital.Based on the practical results,this study proposes the service strategy of "crisis intervention mode + medical game guidance" to intervene short-term hospitalized children's psychological crisis with medical social work.By dividing the purpose and content of intervention in four stages of crisis development,the four-stage service strategies for short-term hospitalized children to cope with psychological crisis were summarized,that is,(1)the determination of the precursors of crisis for children vulnerable to crisis,and the rapid establishment of trust relationship through independentgames;(2)medical games in the period of crisis aggravation help children to contact and express emotions,and improve their comfort state;(3)provide medical information support and stress prevention during the crisis period,correct the misconceptions of the elderly children on the severity and consequences of the disease,build the support force of the hospital caregivers,and improve the support system for the children;(4)medical games in crisis remission period can improve children's self-care concept and promote postoperative rehabilitation through entertainment.The four-stage service strategies improve the positive emotional experience in the treatment process of short-term hospitalized children and alleviate the symptoms of psychological crisis of short-term hospitalized children.However,the role of stabilizing and reducing the negative emotions of children still need to be further explored in detail.
