Objective: In order to find out the current situation and relationship of psych ological abuse,cyber bullying,self-esteem and coping styles among middle sc hool students,to test the mediating role of self-esteem between psychological abuse and cyber bullying and the moderating role of coping styles,and to pr ovide some basis for the upbringing of middle school students.Methods: A total of 1000 middle school students in Chongqing and Shandong were investigated by cluster random sampling,using Child Psychological Ab use Scale,Cyber Bullying Scale,Rosenberg Self-esteem Scale and Coping Sty le Scale.The data is analyzed and processed by SPSS,AMOS and other stati stical software.Results:(1)Male students scored significantly higher in the dimension of conniv ance of psychological abuse than female students.The total scores of psycho logical abuse and neglect,derogation and connivance of rural students were significantly higher than those of urban students.The total scores of psychol ogical abuse,neglect and connivance were significantly different in grade.G enerally speaking,the scores of psychological abuse,neglect and indulgence of senior high school students are significantly higher than those of junior h igh school students.(2)Male students are more likely to be bullied online than female stud ents.The situation of network bullying of rural students is significantly more than that of urban students.There are significant grade differences between cyber bullying and cyber bullying.Generally speaking,high school students are significantly more vulnerable to cyber bullying than junior high school students.(3)The overall level of self-esteem of middle school students is higher,the level of self-esteem of boys is significantly higher than that of girls,the level of self-esteem of urban students is significantly higher than that of r ural students,and the grade difference of self-esteem is extremely significant.(4)Middle school students tend to adopt problem-oriented positive copi ng styles.Girls scored significantly higher in seeking support than boys,whi le boys scored significantly higher in endurance than girls.Urban students sc ored significantly higher in the dimension of "problem solving" and "seeking support" than rural students,and significantly lower in the dimension of "to lerance" than rural students.High school students scored significantly higher than junior high school students in the coping styles of pointing problems a nd pointing emotions.(5)Psychological abuse was negatively correlated with self-esteem,posit ively correlated with cyber bullying and cyber bullying,negatively correlated with Problem-directed coping style and positively correlated with emotional coping style;self-esteem was negatively correlated with cyber bullying,positi vely correlated with Problem-directed coping style and negatively correlated with cyber bullying and cyber-directed emotional coping style.There was a significant positive correlation between bullying and directed emotional copin g style,while there was a significant positive correlation between online bull ying and directed emotional coping style.(6)Psychological abuse has a positive predictive effect on both cyber b ullying and cyber bullying;psychological abuse can effectively predict self-es teem negatively;self-esteem can negatively predict cyber bullying.(7)Self-esteem has no significant mediating effect in the relationship be tween psychological abuse and cyber bullying/cyber bullying;the direct effec t of psychological abuse on cyber bullying and cyber bullying is significant.(8)Coping style has no significant moderating effect on the relationship between psychological abuse and cyber bullying/cyber bullying;the explanat ory power of psychological abuse and coping style to cyber bullying and cy ber bullying is significant.Conclusion:(1)There are significant differences in some dimensions of psychological abuse,cyber bullying,self-esteem and coping styles among middle school students in gender,origin and grade,respectively.(2)Psychological abuse has a positive predictive effect on both cyber bullying and cyber bullying.(3)Psychological abuse can effectively negatively predict self-esteem.(4)Self-esteem can negatively predict cyber bullying.(5)Self-esteem has no significant mediating effect on the relationship between psychological abuse and cyber bullying/victimization.(6)Coping style has no significant moderating effect on the mediating process of self-esteem and the relationship between psychological abuse and cyber bul lying/victimization.
