Study On Quantitative Evaluation And Evolution Mechanism Of Ukraine's Geo-setting

Europe and the United States and Russia did not really achieve credibility and confidence in the end of cold war.In order to prevent Russia from becoming a "Eurasian empire" controlling Eurasia again,Europe and America urgently need to find a strategic pivot in eastern Europe that can effectively restrain Russia and Ukraine is their best option.Ukraine is a frontier outpost and strategic buffer against Europe and the United States in terms of Russia.Ukraine has become the geostrategic intersection of Europe,America and Russia,and its geo-setting is full of variables.Firstly,on the basis of previous studies,this paper organically integrates the theories of geopolitics,geo-setting,intersubjectivity,international relations and geo-potential,constructs the mathematical model and index system for the quantitative evaluation of the geo-setting of Ukraine.Secondly,through the investigation of the evolution of Ukraine's geo-setting in its historical period,discovering the evolution of Ukraine's geo-setting which has inter-subjective attribute,namely,the main reason for the evolution of its geo-setting is that the neighboring geopolitical actors compete with each other.In addition,from the perspective of intersubjectivity,this paper makes an explanation of the 2013 Ukraine crisis,a landmark event of drastic changes in the geo-setting,illustrates the major geopolitical actors influencing the changes in the geo-setting of Ukraine in recent years are the United States,Germany,France and other European and American countries and Russia.Then,under the guidance of the geo-setting quantitative assessment method,the geo-setting assessment model was used to conduct a quantitative assessment of the geo-setting Ukraine between 2000 and 2017.Finally,the development trend of Ukraine's geo-setting and the geopolitical situation of Russia,Germany,France and the United States in Ukraine in recent years are analyzed on the basis on the results of quantitative assessment.Combined with the factors that influence the evolution of the geo-setting in Ukraine,the core mechanism of the evolution of the geo-setting is summarized.The results show that :(1)on the whole,the geo-setting of Ukraine has shown a good trend of development,but the fluctuations are large,and there will be intermittent turbulence in the future geo-setting of Ukraine in recent years;(2)the geopolitical situation of Russia in Ukraine has been at a high level and shows an upward trend of fluctuations;(3)the geopolitical situation of Germany in Ukraine rises and falls slightly in recent years,the geopolitical situation of France and the United States in Ukraine has been relatively stable.(4)the geopolitical game between European and American countries and Russia is due to the evolution of Ukraine's geo-setting;(5)the special and complex geo-setting is the trigger for the deterioration of Ukraine's geo-setting;(6)intersubjectivity is the fundamental driver of Ukraine's geo-setting changes.As the intersection of geostrategic region,Ukraine's evolution of geo-setting has great enlightenment significance for China,which is on the road of the rise of a great power and it is conducive to deal with the geopolitical events around it.In order to break through the containment of the United States and its Allies and eliminate their negative effects,China should do the following in the future :(1)strengthen China's major power in the geopolitical situation from the strategic convergence area around China,and strive to become the leading force in the core interest area;(2)improve their strategic focus to avoid falling into “tamed”trap,which is the opposite of the geostrategic;(3)forbid the formation of the "dual" geopolitical structure in the focus area and optimize the surrounding geo-setting for its own development;(4)keep the principle of conformity with the expenditure on national defense construction and the level of economic development;(5)strengthen CHINA-US economic and trade ties,increase bilateral interdependence and build a community of Shared future for China and America.
