The Study On The Evolution Of Geo-setting In The Adjoining Areas Of China,India And Myanmar

Since the 21^st century,the world economic and power center has been accelerating to transfer from Europe-Atlantic region to Asia-Pacific region.China peaceful rise has brought a fundamental change in comparison of international powers.The United States has actively promoted the"Indo-Pacific Strategy"dominated by the United States,Japan,India and Australia,has continuously upgraded their dialogue mechanism,and has actively rendered the"China Threat Theory",resulting in that India is suspicious about China and worries about that its influences in the South Asian Sub-Continent and the Indian Ocean will be weakened by China.The game of powers has led to fiercer strategic competition of major powers in the Indian Ocean.The confluence of China’s strategy and India’s strategy is in Myanmar which regards the competition of major powers as a strategy and an opportunity and maintains the independence of foreign policies while fighting for benefits.There have been more instable geographical factors in the world,and the international geopolitical structure has changed significantly,resulting in that the international geo-setting has changed,and a new geostrategic confluence of major powers has appeared in the convergence zone of South Asia,Southeast Asia and Central Asia-China-India-Myanmar tri-border area.Against such a backdrop,it is especially important that the geo-setting in the China-India-Myanmar tri-border area for which China has a great demand is interpreted,and strategies are formulated and scientific support is provided for China’s objective assessment of the opportunities and challenges brought by"Bangladesh-China-India-Myanmar Economic Corridor"geo-setting.In this paper,the interpretation thinking and analysis framework of the geo-setting in the geostrategic confluence of major powers in the cross-border region are established,and the evolution process of geo-setting in the geostrategic confluence of major powers is depicted from the spatial perspective of geostrategic confluence of major powers.The historical evolution process of the geo-setting in China-India-Myanmar tri-border area is systematically depicted and analyzed in combination with historical materials from the historical and spatio-temporal perspective of the geopolitics.The geo-setting in China-India-Myanmar tri-border area is studied with qualitative research of the geographical concept together with quantitative analysis.And,the spatio-temporal mutual match and exterior-interior relationship is argued.On the basis of making clear the vicissitude of geopolitical bodies inside and outside this area and sorting out the specific form of their geopolitical relationship and the influence on this area,the status quo of the geo-setting in China-India-Myanmar tri-border area is analyzed.Findings are as follows:（1）China and Southeast Asia and South Asia are bordered on land and connected by sea,so China can interact with them geopolitically through these two media-land and sea.The tribute payment system of the ancient China can have influences on evolution of the geo-setting in China-India-Myanmar tri-border area.India mainly influences the China-India-Myanmar tri-border area through trading which has promoted spread of the Hinduism in this area and has had universal influences in politics and culture in this area.Since the modern times,the geopolitical bodies outside China-India-Myanmar tri-border area has had all-round influences on this area.Western countries occupied colonies,divided their spheres of influence,and shaped the geopolitical forms and relationships according to their own intentions,which laid out the territory and distribution pattern of modern Southeast Asian and Southern Asian countries.However,they ignored the historical and traditional customs and separated inherent ties,which has left hidden dangers for various political disputes inside and outside modern Southeast Asian and South Asian countries.（2）The game among major powers in China-India-Myanmar tri-border area will be more complex and diversified.As a result,the subjectively built geopolitical relationships play a big leading role,while the cause-effect geopolitical relationships generated by countries which make every effort to eliminate mutual misunderstandings and push mutual benefits have fluctuated significantly.In the case of unstable geopolitical relations,geo-economic relationships will fluctuate accordingly.（3）Under the action of construction,the United States"gangs up with"India,and India,Japan,and Australia take advantage of the"Asia-Pacific"trend to implement strategies to hedge against China and enhance their respective influences in the corresponding region.The major powers compete fiercely in China-India-Myanmar tri-border area.Under the action of cause and effect,Myanmar lies in the geographic buffer zone of the two major strategic forces-China and India.Geopolitical vulnerability will directly determine Myanmar’s degree of dependence on foreign countries,leading to political and diplomatic weaknesses and vulnerability and economic dependence.At the same time,both China and India have economic and military interest demands for Myanmar.Myanmar’s strategic position has risen,and it has been involved in confrontations of regional or global powers,which has increased its exposure to external factors.（4）With the changes in the international situation,due to the integration of the spatial surface structure formed by geographical location and the deep structure of the material and conceptual process formed by territorial disputes,channel competition and cultural conflicts,it has undergone profound internal division and has been involved into the competition among major powers at the geostrategic confluence.As many strategies and policies have been established,such as America’s"Pivot to Asia Strategy","Indo-Pacific Strategy",India’s"Look East Policy"and China’s"Belt and Road"initiative,the geopolitical competition has been fiercer,the original geopolitical order has been overthrown gradually,and a new dynamic balance has been established in the mutual competition.Through interpretation to the historical and current geo-setting in China-India-Myanmar tri-border area,the comprehensive evolution mechanism of geo-setting in geostrategic confluence of major powers has been summarized:On one aspect,the change of the global geopolitical and economic landscape is the basis of strategic evolution of major powers.External force usually refers to local wars and natural disasters,which have made relationships between major powers and regional relationships more complicated and changeable in aspects of strategic cognition,policy adjustment and international rules,have impeded the progress of the human society and the balanced development of the whole world and have brought great influences on the international geo-setting.Under the interaction between external force and internal force,the fundamental power of evolution is intersubjectivity of geopolitical strategies of major powers.The relationship between subjects is an important factor of influencing making of decisions on geopolitical strategies.Once the acting subjects change,decisions on geopolitical strategies should be adjusted accordingly."Self"and"the other"of the intersubjectivity reflects an interactive relationship.In face of different geopolitical location values,one country will adopt different geopolitical strategies accordingly.On the other aspect,the direct power is the geo-security and interests of major powers.The formation of strategic confluence areas of great powers is the reflection of the geo-strategic game of great powers in a specific geographic space.A country formulates the geostrategy to realize national interests（including political interests,military interests and economic interests）,serve the national interests and form a specific global influence of the country.The country,as an acting subject,will adjust the geostrategy under the drive of national interests at different stages and actively serve the national interests.The indirect motivation is the change of the geographical location in the tri-border area.Drive by the joint force,a new geostrategic confluence of major powers is generated.Since the Cold War,the geo-setting among countries in the China-India-Myanmar tri-border area has changed.Competition and game has continuously occurred among countries in this tri-border area in aspects of the comprehensive national strength and economic strength.The Indian Ocean has gradually become the"heartland"of oceans.Myanmar has become the strategic confluence of major powers.Geostrategy of major powers is of intersubjectivity which is the fundamental power of geopolitical evolution in the China-India-Myanmar tri-border area.Geostrategy of nations is of intersubjectivity which is of guiding significance for construction of the geostrategy.Geo-security and interests of major powers are the direct power of geopolitical evolution in the China-India-Myanmar tri-border area.The geostrategy should be timely adjusted based on the need of national interests.Since the adjustment of national geostrategy has brought the geographical confluence of geostrategy of major powers in the China-India-Myanmar tri-border area,the geopolitical location of China-India-Myanmar tri-border area has changed,the value of the geopolitical location has risen,which has become the indirect power of evolution of the geo-setting in China-India-Myanmar tri-border area.At last,comprehensive,coordinative and continuous integral geostrategic goals are formed through accurately mastering the geo-setting in the China-India-Myanmar tri-border area and making clear the historical,geographical,cultural,ethnic and religious relationship in the China-India-Myanmar tri-border area.Nations in the China-India-Myanmar tri-border area should strengthen strategic mutual trust,trust and help each other politically for the purpose of geo-security,and seek economic cooperation and economic development between countries and regions in terms of economy to jointly push construction of"Belt and Road"initiative and a community with a shared future for mankind.
