| This topic is based on the Newmark's text type theory,according to the characteristics,the text type can be divided into expression type text,information type text,vocative type text.Different translation methods and strategies should be used depending on the text types.In the 1990 s,Newmark proposed the "association translation method".It means that the more important the language of the original text,the more closely the translation should be.In the specific translation practice,it is necessary to pay attention to summarizing the differences between the two languages,and to control the relevance of the translation and the original text according to the type texts,cultural differences,the purpose of the translation and the target reader.The basic units of language are words and sentences,and they need to be accurately translated.The author uses the fifth chapter of Endangered Species Protecting Biodiversity as the text for translation,and writes this translation practice report based on the problems that arise during the translation process.This chapter focuses on marine mammals as one of the most popular endangered fauna.Whales,seals,sea lions,otters and manatees are particularly protected by law,but face special challenges in recovery.This text belongs to typical Marine-related scientific and technological texts.In the translation process,vocabulary difficulties include marine-related terminology.The translation strategies include context-based inference and interpretation.In terms of sentences,it focuses on the analysis of long difficult sentences.The translation strategies include literal translation,division,and structural reorganization.This study aims to effectively solve the translation problems caused by the differences between Chinese and English and the different language structures in the associated translation method of Newmark's Text Type Theory.At the same time,I hope to provide inspiration and reference for the translation of similar texts. |
