Tan Xinpei,as the "founder" of "Tan School",actually did not start a sect.He sang "The Sound of Passion".It reformed the phonological system on which pronunciation was based, and created a new concept of "The elements of doing and playing are added to the opera with singing and reading as its main content.".These make his performance style unique, which is respected as "Tan School" by later generations.Tan Xinpei's performance features mainly focus on "change".His singing, talking, posing and acting all embody the artistic style and aesthetic spirit of "changing constantly" and "breaking the rules and changing with each passing day".However, this "change" is based on the formula of Peking Opera, relying on the formula, absorbing a variety of opera art forms, and integrating innovation. In addition,Tan Xinpei's performance has what Hegel calls "originality",which is another reason why Tan Xinpei has become the peak of his art.Since Tan Zhidao, the father of Tan Xinpei, the Tan family has been handed down for seven generations and is known as the "The most original school of Tan".However, there are many Peking Opera artists influenced by Tan Xinpei.Wang Youchen,Yan Jupeng,Zhou Xinfang,Yu Shuyan,Mei Lanfang and others imitate Tan,learn from Tan,or are inspired by Tan Xinpei's aesthetic spirit to form their own style. It is obvious that "Tan School" has more than seven generations to inherit.Neither Tan Xinpei's descendants nor Tan Xinpei's students, their performance can not really copy Tan Xinpei, and their inheritance also has deviation and "dynamic rheology".In the field of Peking Opera, there are many schools with numerous inheritors, but in terms of their meaning and artistic connotation,"schools" are actually the product of the artist's personal style of Peking Opera performance. It is non-inheritance because of its original style. From the inheritance phenomenon of "school",most of the inheritors regard themselves as "school",but the artistic style of "school" can neither imitate nor inherit its essence. The reason is that the individualized style of Peking Opera art can not be replicated.Because Peking Operais an art with "original" formal beauty formed by the unfolding of "body schema" centered on actors and based on the children's skills of singing, talking, posing and acting. The development of the actor's "body schema" is based on the "second nature" formed by the individual in the arduous childhood work. The formation of the "second nature" of the individual is personalized. Therefore, the forms of beauty presented by the body expansion on the stage are also different. The formation of "second nature" of an individual is individualized,so the forms of beauty that unfolds the body on the stage are different. The "Tan School" is an artistic phenomenon of Tan Xinpei's personal style in Peking Opera performance. As an art,it can't be duplicated, nor can it be used as a model of imitation.
