as a basic cognitive means, metaphor has enriched our spiritual life and provided a way for daily emotional communication and thought expression.Metaphor is an important way of lyric expression and lyric creation is inseparable from metaphor.Fang Wenshan,as a hot lyricist in Chinese music, has won various music awards and nominations for his lyrics, which has set a good example for the development of music. His songs reflect the combination of tradition and modernity, which not only refer to classical elements, but also produce new changes in inheritance. It can be said that his lyrics have experienced the transformation from ancient poetry to modern lyrics, and this transformation process is the process of "recontextualization".Based on the image-mapping theory and the re-contextualization theory, this paper analyzes the metaphorical expressions in 63 lyrics of "Chinese style" by Fang Wenshan and discusses the process of constructing the meaning of the lyrics.First of all, this paper introduces Fang Wenshan's life and creative achievements, defines "Chinese style" songs from multiple perspectives, points out the definition criteria of "Chinese style" songs in this paper, and then leads to the research object of this paper. The analysis shows that as the founder of "Chinese style" songs,Fang Wenshan's lyrics have a wide range of social influence.Secondly, using the theory of image mapping, the metaphor in Fang Wenshan's lyrics is divided into five types from the perspective of image, and the corresponding cognitive mechanism is explained by taking the mapping between the source domain and the target domain as the basic reference point.Through analysis,we believe that the important reason for the popularity of Fang Wenshan's songs is the lyric nature and the use of classical images. Finally, this paper discusses the re-contextualization of the lyrics of Fang Wenshan's lyrics, and analyzes the metaphorical expression of the lyrics based on specific examples.Re-contextualization is firstly manifested as the adaptation and transformation of language, that is,breaking the conventional norms of language use, recombining and replacing the relevant elements in language to reflect the metaphorical effect of defamiliarization. The second is the inheritance of ancient poetry texts. The lyrics of Fang Wenshan have absorbed and inherited a variety of expressions and metaphors of traditional poetry, which are embodied in the metaphor of imagery, metaphor of ancient poetry and metaphor of rhetoric, highlighting the implication, meaningful and thought-provoking characteristics of metaphor. It is further explained that the reference of Fang Wenshan's lyrics to the traditional text is not a simple copy, but a combination of the background of The Times, poetic conception and so on,to form its own unique characteristics,to deepen the artistic conception of the lyrics and enhance the effect of expression. The combination of re-contextualization and metaphorical expression makes Fang Wenshan's works show strong personal characteristics and unique style.
