Globalization has accelerated the frequency and speed of intercultural communication.Visitors from all over the world have come to China for sightseeing,and Chinese tourists also travel to every corner around the world.Intercultural communication brought by tourism is becoming a more and more common event.Erroneous intercultural communication in the process of cross-cultural communication becomes a highly probable event.Some cause only some "mistakes",and some may lead to "misunderstanding",while others may lead to "misdirection",disputes or even conflicts.A tourism public sign is a major window of intercultural communication and a major way leading to erroneous intercultural communication.Therefore,it has become a hot topic with both theoretical and practical significance to study the phenomenon and essence of erroneous intercultural communication through tourism public signs and to explore ways to solving the problems of erroneous intercultural communication.This paper reviews the relevant theoretical achievements of predecessors by combining quantitative and qualitative methods,and puts forward the suitable research methods and research thoughts.Based on Shannon-Weaver's theory of Information Transmission Mode,this paper classifies and analyzes the phenomenon and causes of tourism public sighs' erroneous intercultural communication.Then,it discusses the soft management countermeasures to solve the erroneous intercultural communication,and finally puts forward the soft management mode of the Project Team Management Approach.It is found that the phenomenon of unintentional erroneous intercultural communication is decreasing day by day,while intentional erroneous intercultural communication is on the rise.The proportion of erroneous intercultural communication caused by knowledge is gradually reduced,and the erroneous intercultural communication caused by consciousness and cognition is increasing.There are different influences in the process of information transmission,such as source,sink,channel,noise and feedback.The method of soft management is more effective in the process of intercultural communication in tourism public signs.Therefore,after analyzing the phenomenon and causes,this paper proposes the soft management countermeasures for intercultural communication of tourism public signs.A soft management model based on Project Team Management Approach is proposed to reduce the probability of unintentional erroneous intercultural communicationand to improve the ability and efficiency of identifying and applying intentional erroneous intercultural communication.
