The Research On Domesticated Propaganda In Occupied Area Of Hangzhou By Traitors

On December 24^th,1937,Hangzhou was occupied by Japan.In the early days of occupation,the Japanese army dominated people in Hangzhou mainly by the Pseudo-Maintenance and the Autonomous Committee.After 1938,Japan successively supported the“Reformed Government”and a pseudo government headed by Wang Jingwei in Nanjing,the two pseudo government successively established the local pseudo regime in Hangzhou.Relying on the occupation by Japan,the pseudo regime in Hangzhou not only carried out brutal military rule and economic control,but also domesticated propaganda over Hangzhou.This article focuses on the domesticated propaganda by the pseudo regime in Hangzhou during the eight years from the occupation by Japan in 1937 to the victory of the Anti-Japanese War in 1945.The main content includes the specialized organization,the policy,the strategy,the way and the content to carry out domesticated propaganda,in addition to the analysis of the dilemma encountered in the process of implementing domesticated propaganda in Hangzhou.The propaganda and the social management department in the pseudo regime was in charge of the domesticated propaganda,In addition,the puppet organization such as the DPP was fully utilized.During the process of promoting the domesticated propaganda,the traitor not only carried out the overall policy by Japan but also had specific publicity policies for Hangzhou.Its propaganda ways mainly were newspaper,periodical?including various special issues?,radio,film,making speeches on people,performance,street slogan and so on.The important features of the domesticated propaganda in Hangzhou are using various anniversaries and the publicity of Buddhism in Hangzhou to carry out domesticated propaganda.In the process of promoting domesticated propaganda,the traitors not only paid attention to make propaganda in the fixed public places,but also organized various roving publicity activities in various places.The content of domesticated propaganda has its own emphasis in different periods.In the early days of occupation in Hangzhou,the Japanese army established the image of being kind to people through the pseudo-regime,advocated the invincibility of Japanese military,and slandered the cooperation between Guomindang and Communist China.During the period of the pseudo government headed by Wang Jingwei,its domesticated propaganda was more systematic,which highlighted the ideas of peace,anti-communism and building state.After the outbreak of Pacific War at the end of 1941,the content of anti-American was emphasized in the domesticated propaganda.The intention to eliminate anti-Japanese thoughts from people in Hangzhou is not realized.The anti-Japanese forces in the surrounding areas of Hangzhou,the extensive development of anti-Japanese propaganda and various forms of resistances from people in Hangzhou greatly diminished the effect of domesticated propaganda.More importantly,the false and deceptive nature of domesticated propaganda itself was destined to fail with the military failure.
