With the development of Chinese economy, more and more people are learning Chinese, and there is a "Chinese fever" all over the world, which increases the demand for teachers of Chinese as a foreign language. In order to keep up with the trend, many Chinese teacher volunteers have been sent to teach Chinese and spread Chinese culture.Thailand has the high enthusiasm of learning Chinese. In recent years,Chinese education has been developed and strengthened,Thailand has become an important base for the dissemination of Chinese, but also the first country to export volunteers.Among the many volunteers, the number of Chinese teacher volunteers to Thailand is a large team,is an important part of teacher volunteers. In this general trend and background, more and more studies on cross-cultural adaptation have been carried out.Cross-cultural scholars at home and abroad generally believe that expatriates, after adapting to foreign culture, return to the motherland. It can experience counter-cultural shock similar to cultural shock, followed by a number of psychological or physical discomfort.Although there are a lot of researches on cross-cultural adaptation at home and abroad, there are relatively few studies on the re-adaptation of return-to-home culture. This study can provide some research data for this field, and it can also provide reference for the re-adaptation of volunteers returning from other countries. This study adopts the combination of qualitative and quantitative methods, from the social and cultural adaptation, psychological re-adaptation,role re-adaptation and other aspects,in-depth exploration of the cultural adaptation of returned Chinese volunteers to Thailand.Through quantitative research,it is found that the main problems faced by Chinese teacher volunteers returning to Thailand in the process of cultural readjustment are as follows: firstly, there are climate, diet, accommodation and transportation in the aspect of social and cultural adaptation.Daily life exchange, participation in social communication activities, sports and entertainment, service awareness and service attitude;Secondly, the performance of psychological re-adaptation has a low personal mood, anxiety, want to escape, and so on;Finally,in the language readaptation and role re-adaptation,there are also different degrees of problems.Through the further analysis of qualitative studies,it is concluded that nearly half of the volunteers returning to Thailand will encounter various problems atthe beginning of their returning to Thailand, although there are many situations that are common. But because each individual is different, the place to go is also different,so to a large extent, everyone's feelings and experiences will also be different. In addition, many problems need specific analysis, and the problem of cultural adaptation of each returned volunteer will change with time, different times, different regions, and different places. The problems encountered are also different.Synthesizing all kinds of situations, the researcher puts forward some suggestions on the cultural readjustment of returning volunteers to Thailand, summarizes the limitations of the research, and puts forward some problems that need to be studied for Chinese teachers returning volunteers.
