In the 1990 s,formative evaluation had been adpted to Chinese language teaching.After more than 20 years of development,the value and effectiveness of formative evaluation has been recognized by more and more Chinese teachers and undergraduate students.Chinese teachers realized that formative evaluation is a continuous and dynamic evaluation method.It could promote Chinese language learning efficiency,boost internal study motivation and cultivate of good study habits.A scientific and reasonable formative evaluation system will not only help undergraduate students to do self-check but also help Chinese teachers to understand the learning situation and know the needs of each international undergraduate student whilst the teachers could adjust the teaching content and methods for improving the efficiency of teaching activities,whenever they need.So forth the academic achievements of undergraduate students would be enhanced finally.This study explored the formative evaluation construction of Chinese language teachers for oversea undergraduate students.Besides,the researcher also discussed and summarized the methods and development direction of oversea undergraduate students formative evaluation system.The study consists of four chapters,the first Chapter is the introduction and it was followed by the second Chapter which aims to explore the implementation situation of formative evaluation employed in the Chinese language courses.Chapter Three was drived to analysis the formative evaluation of oversea undergraduate students.chapter Four discussed the construction of the formative evaluation of oversea undergraduate students.This thesis aims to help Chinese language teachers to find out the method of formative evaluation construction.It is also could assist the teachers to combine the formative evaluation system with Chinese language teaching and set forth the content,method of the formative evaluation.
