In the current society,with the rapid development and wide application of computer technology and network technology,the world has entered the information age.In this environment,the status of teachers in traditional education has been shaken,which requires teachers to have different responsibility orientation and role consciousness.Facing the problems in teaching under the information environment of education,we deeply realize that the traditional role of teachers has been challenged,and we need to re-orientate the role of teachers.In recent years,many experts and educators have conducted in-depth research on the role of teachers,but basically for secondary school or university teachers,the role of primary school English teachers is still relatively inadequate.The purpose of this paper is to clarify the role orientation of primary school English teachers.Its purpose is to help teachers improve their English teaching.It is also conducive to teachers' better awareness of their occupational position and their social value,so as to provide broad space for students' independent development and improve their teaching ability.Teachers' roles have changed greatly under the information environment of education,which also puts forward new requirements for teachers.However,in the face of these challenges,some teachers do not know how to do,nor can they make effective changes in their roles;but some teachers in the teaching process can pay more attention to technology itself but ignore the importance of humanistic care.In this case,if teachers can not solve these contradictions to adapt to the new educational environment,it will greatly affect the quality of education and the development of information technology in the field of education.Based on the behaviorism theory,constructivism theory and social interaction theory,this study conducts empirical research to collect real and valuable information about the role of teachers under the information environment of education.The whole thesis aims to explore the following questions:(1)What is the actual classroom role of primary English teachers under the information environment of education?(2)What is the expectation of students for primary English teachers' classroom roles under the information environment of education?(3)What is primary English teachers' perception of classroom roles under the information environment of education?This study takes the students and teachers from two classes of the fifth and sixth grade in a township primary school in Weifang City as the research object,starting in September 2017 and ending in September 2018,for a period of one year.This study aims to clarify the current situation of primary school English teaching through questionnaires and interviews with teachers and students,We have a new understanding of the change of primary English teachers' role,to help primary school students find interest and self-confidence in the process of learning English,so that they can make progress in English knowledge and skills,emotional attitude,sense of cooperation and so on.Through data analysis and discussion,this study finds that:(1)Through teacher's interview and classroom observation,it is found that in the information environment of education,primary school English teachers often play the roles of knowledge imparter,teaching activity organizer,daily learning monitor,classroom activity instructor and teaching activity participant,followed by curriculum implementer,student learning guide,classroom atmosphere builder and self-determination Learners and knowledge system builders play the lowest role in teaching activities and learning effect evaluation.(2)Through a questionnaire survey of students,it is found that students expect primary school English teachers to play a multi-level role,produce a multiple role effect,adjust role-playing according to different groups of students,help and support students' learning to the greatest extent,and promote the healthy and happy development of students.(3)Through a questionnaire survey of teachers,it is found that under the information environment of education,primary school English teachers have begun to try and have tried new media teaching,which has achieved considerable results.Teachers have experienced the convenience and progress brought by advanced technology to teaching,and realized the necessity of role transformation under the information environment.The thesis further proposes the necessity,influencing factors and implementation ways of classroom role transformation of primary English teachers.Only by changing their roles,mastering modern educational technology and improving their information literacy,can primary school English teachers guide students to change their old learning concepts,learn to learn self-study and self-assessment,so as to improve their English level.Although this research confirms the necessity and effective ways of classroom roles of primary English teachers under the information environment of education,there are some limitations and shortcomings in the research itself,for example,the research time is short,the research sample is single and small,the questionnaire and classroom observation scale need to be further demonstrated and improved.
