Anticipation In Chinese And French Consecutive Interpretation And Its Solutions

Anticipation plays an important role in Chinese and French consecutive translation.It enables interpreters to allocate their energies more reasonably.Interpreters can sometimes analyze and organize information in advance by anticipating the information that has not been released by the speaker,and thus improve the quality of the output of interpretation.Relevance theory provides theoretical guidance for interpretation anticipation.It holds that interpretation is a process of achieving optimal relevance through an ostensive-inferential process.Optimal relevance in interpretation means that translators can achieve optimal contextual effects with minimal effort.However,anticipation deviation in interpretation is inevitable,that is,the loss of optimal correlation is inevitable.This paper summarizes and analyzes the reasons for the loss of the best correlation through reviewing the anticipations in the case of the simulation conference and proposes ways to improve the best correlation by improving pertinence in preparation before the interpretation,enhancing awareness during the interpretation and handling deviation in anticipations timely.
