The Sui and Tang Dynasties are a flourishing era in the China’s history with open civilization and gorgeous economics,as well as an important period for the development of ceramics art.As kilns in various regions continuously improved the technological level and production techniques,ceramics art that sounds inclusive and stored absorbs the spirit of the era,and is sold overseas as the main products of cultural exchanges between east and west.Xing Kiln Chinaware in Tang Dynasty as a most popular mark of white porcelain exerts an essential impact on foreign culture naturally due to its observation and action.Actually,it can be seen a lot of treasure unearthed in the Xing Kiln Chinaware shows some historic background of gold and silver ware in China’s Western Regions.Xing Kiln originates from north Korea,while develops from Sui Dynasty to early Tang Dynasty and becomes mature in the Tang Dynasty through prosperity and decline.In other words,the Sui and Tang dynasties with ancient China culture for northern barbarian tribes are most proud of Xing Kiln Chinaware,when treasure with the special style of China’s Western Regions is an important part of the ceramic art system of Xing Kiln Chinaware.However,there is no details about the gold and silver ware in China’s Western Regions in the determination of artistic characteristics and styles of Xing Kiln Chinaware.As a comparable analysis,researchers pay more attention to the feats of Xing Kiln Chinaware as a white porcelain,and focus on its silvery and snowy glazing color,simple and unadorned decoration,grand and harmonious modelling as well as advanced technology at that time.They emphasize more preference for white porcelain in Xing Kiln Chinaware and the profound and fundamental significance for the development of all kinds of color porcelain.On the contrary,there is less research on the foreign culture influence on Xing Kiln Chinaware.In fact,those researchers just make a simple and superficial analysis on the mock object without a comprehensive and systematic explanation on the influence,the late evolution and the source for the gold and silver ware of Xing Kiln Chinaware.This paper focuses on the influence of gold and silver ware of the western region on the ceramics art of Xing Kiln Chinaware.The first chapter introduces the research background and research significance of this paper,makes an overall investigation of the domestic and foreign research status related to this research topic,and makes a report on the reliability of data selection.Finally,it gives a clear definition of the research scope for this paper.The second chapter aims at sorting out the development status and artistic characteristics of Xing Kiln Chinaware in the Sui and Tang dynasties,and summarizes the ceramics art with the characteristics of gold and silver ware in the China’s western regions and its overall development trend.The third and fourth chapters,through a comparative analysis of the gold and silver ware in the western regions and the ceramics art of Xing Kiln Chinaware,discuss the characteristics of the gold and silver ware in the China’s western regions in Xing Kiln Chinaware respectively from the two aspects of shape and decoration,and trace its origin.In addition,combined with the history background of the Sui and Tang dynasties and local customs and habits,this author studies its evolution and its internal cultural driving factors.The fifth chapter is based on the first two chapters on the characteristics of the gold and silver ware in the China’s western regions,and meanwhile make a comparison and discussion about the production process behind these characteristics.The sixth chapter analyzes the reasons for the influence of the western region gold and silver wares on the ceramics art of Xing Kiln Chinaware from two subjective factors such as,the worship of gold and silver ware as well as the social life of the Sui and Tang dynasties,and two objective factors such as the development of the silk road and well-developed silver ware industry in China’s western regions.Chapter Seven draws a conclusion on the research of this paper.
