Study Of Chao Yuezhi's Thoughts Of Confucian Classics

Chao Yuezhi was a knowledgeable person,not only study the Yi-ology and the Spring and Autumn Theory,but also the study of the Book of Songs and the Four Books(Daxue,Lunyu,Zhongyong,Mengzi).However,when the academic community studied him,they mainly analyzed his poems and essays,but ignored his achievements in Confucian Classics.Studying his ideology of Confucian Classics,it is an indispensable work to fully grasp the history of Confucian Classics in the Song Dynasty and even the entire history of Confucian Classics in China.His Confucian Classics writings involve almost all Confucian Classics,but unfortunately most of them are lost.As for the Yi-ology,he has written articles such as Ancient Zhouyi,Yigui,Yixuanxingjipu and so on.He advocated the restoration of ancient Zhouyi,opposed the interpretation of Zhouyi with own understanding,and agreed with the combination of Zhouyi and Taixuan.As for the Spring and Autumn Theory,in his writings such as Ruyan,Bianwu,Sanzhuanshuo,he not only borrowed the philosophies in Spring and Autumn to discuss the current affairs,but also commented on the Spring and Autumn Zuozhuan and Spring and Autumn Gongyangzhuan and Spring and Autumn Guliangzhuan from the perspective of Spring and Autumn.As for the study of the Book of Songs,in his writings such as Shizhixulun,Dajiazizhuangshu,he not only doubted the author and content of The Preface to the Poetry but also advocated borrowing the records of Spring and Autumn to explain The Book of Songs.As for the study of the Four Books,his attitude towards Lunyu Mengzi Zhongyong were completely different,he respected Lunyu but resisted Mengzi,and annotated Zhongyong while also proposing that there were wrong texts in Zhongyong.It can be said,both his the Yi-ology of thoughts,the Spring and Autumn Theory of thoughts,the Book of Songs and the Four Books of thoughts have the same characteristics,not only widely absorbs and draws on the doctrines of others,but also doubts the Confucian Classics while respecting Confucian Classics.Andbecause of this,his Confucian Classics thoughts especially that some of his viewpoints on the Yi-ology and on the study of the Book of Songs still have great influence on later generations of scholars.Take a brief look at his life on Confucian Classics,he always insisted on a unique thoughts and determined to form their own unique doctrine.The influence and value of his Confucian Classics thoughts cannot be underestimated,he was a person who could not be ignored in the history of Chinese Confucian classics,especially the Yi-ology and on the study of the Book of Songs.
