The Study Of The Northern Song Dynasty, The Chao Family And Its Literature

Since 1980's, the culture study of the Chinese ancient literature has been becoming a very important trend. This trend can also be reflected on the study about the relation between clan and literature, many scholars pay their attention on it. Chao clan of North-Song dynasty was a very typical family which had many writers. Obviously, the literature of Chao clan took a key position to North-Song dynasty. This dissertation will focus on the literature of the Chao clan which mainly lived in North-Song dynasty, and find why the family liked to write, how they showed their specialty in literature generation by generation, and the effect they did on the literature history of the North-Song dynasty.There are four chapters in the dissertation, which including introduction, text, conclusion, bibliography and postscript.The first part will talk about the value of this discussion and the research that the scholars has studide on it.There are four chapters in the text. At first chapter, the author will try to find the familyship of Chao clan and their literature creations. In the second chapter, the dissertation will focus on the reasons of which caused this family pay more attention to work in writing. Then we can find their creations took a important effect on the literature of the North-Song. The third chapter is going to talk about several important writers such as Chao bu-zhi and Chao shuo-zhi, etc. They had their clear literature theory in writing. In the fourth chapter, the author will discuss the general writers such as Chao-jiong, Chao duan-you, Chao duan-li, Chao chong-zhi, etc. The last two chapters will just study on the poems, ci, and proses of Chao bu-zhi and Chao shuo-zhi.In the last part, the author will analyze the situation of Chao clan after going to the south, their literature also took some new changes.
