With the rapid development of science and technology, artificial intelligence as an important part of English for science and technology has a subtle impact on our life and workplace.Translation of artificial intelligence and robotic technology serves an important way to obtain advanced science and technology from abroad. This article is a report on translation practice in the field of artificial intelligence. The purpose of the report is to explore and solve difficult problems with Cartford's translation theory in the process of translating English into Chinese based on the characteristics of English texts of science and technology. This practice report consists of the following four parts: The first part is a brief introduction to the translation project, the purpose and significance of the text selection in the report. The second part is preparation before translation, which mainly expounds the accumulation of artificial intelligence background knowledge before translation and the study of the theory of translation shifts.Because this report is based on Cartford's translation theory, this chapter focuses on explaining this theory. The third part is the analysis of typical cases, which based on the lexical and syntactic structure of the text.Based on the theory, the chapter also discusses how to use appropriate translation strategies to translate scientific and technological texts. The fourth part summarizes the gains and limitations during the translation, and some suggestions in future translating. This translation report verified translation theories and concluded solutions of translation difficulties with real cases. At the same time, the author also hopes to give a reference to translators and readers who are interested in English for science and technology.
