Ritual Tradition And Local Social Vicissitude

Folk rituals are the focus of attention and research in Chinese folklore in the new period.Jingjiang Zuo Hui Jiang Jing are relatively characteristic folk belief activities spread in Jingjiang area of Jiangsu.The integral Jingjiang Zuo Hui Jiang Jing should include two aspects:the text of Baojuan and the performance ritual.Through the collection of documents,the study of Jingjiang Baojuan texts has been fruitful,and the study of their rituals is relatively lacking.Therefore,the focus of this article is on the presentation ritual of Zuo Hui Jiang Jing,hoping to supplement the research of Jingjiang Zuo Hui Jiang Jing.Jingjiang Zuo Hui Jiang Jing originated from the sermon activities in the Ming and Qing dynasties.After spreading to the Jingjiang area,they were closely integrated with the local ceremony and gradually formed a ritual tradition that is rooted in the daily life of local people.At present,neither the scrolls nor sermons are common across the country.Benefited by the unique geographical environment and cultural background of the Jingjiang region,Jingjiang Zuo Hui Jiang Jing has maintained vigorous vitality in the region after the times and social vicissitudes.Of course,the development of the activities is not static,and the ritual tradition is also self-adjusting in the context of the changing environment of local society,the ritual tradition is also self-adjusting in this process.For a long time,Jingjiang Zuo Hui Jiang Jing has been fully integrated into the local people's life world,the customs and cultural common sense recorded in the scriptures have became an important means for local people to cope with life and understand society,the core idea of "advocating conscience" has also been strengthened the people's emotional identification,guiding the people to be conscientious and promoting the shaping of local culture.The main body of this article consists of four parts.The first chapter mainly introduces the space-time background of the research object.It mainly starts from the geographical and cultural background of the Jingjiang area and the origin of Zuo Hui Jiang Jing to discuss the reasons for its developments;the second chapter summarizes Jingjiang Zuo Hui Jiang Jing,from the three aspects of the "Jing","Hui" and the folk artists who can handle it;the third chapter uses field cases to analyze the choice of ritual time and place,the behavior of ritual participants,the symbolic meaning of props during the ritual to explore the complex belief system displayed behind it;the fourth chapter combs the relationship between Zuo Hui Jiang Jing and the daily life of the local people and the adaptive process of the ritual tradition in social vicissitudes.With deep local culture and people's emotions,this is the most important reason why Jingjiang Zuo Hui Jiang Jing has still survived after social vicissitudes.
