Strategic culture is a new perspective to analyze national foreign policy.Studying a country's foreign policy through strategic culture can enable us to better understand a country's diplomatic behavior.Turkey's strategic culture has both obvious conservatism and outstanding adventurism. In terms of conservatism,The main manifestations are: First,Turkey advocates peaceful and friendly diplomacy;Second,Turkey advocates not intervening in policies and advocating peace and neutrality. As far as adventurism is concerned,The main performances are: First,Turkey advocates establishing alliances with major countries to safeguard national interests,Such as the United States;Second,Turkey advocates a high-profile involvement in Middle East affairs and plays a more important role in regional exchanges in order to enhance its international status. The article is divided into three main parts:The first part introduces the performance of Turkish conservative diplomacy.Conservative diplomacy follows the principle of “domestic peace, world peace” advocated by Kemal.Turkish conservative diplomacy advocates non-interventionism,Adopts a cautious attitude in relations with neighboring countries,Advocates equality and friendship with other countries. The specific performance is: The peaceful and friendly foreign policy formulated by Turkey after the founding of the country; The neutralist foreign policy that Turkey adhered to during World War II;The zero-issue foreign policy that Turkey adhered to after the Cold War.The second part introduces Turkey's performance in adventurous diplomacy. The main manifestations are: Turkey's “one-sided” foreign policy adhered to during the Cold War,advocated alliances with the United States, and actively joined NATO military organizations;Turkey actively intervened in the Middle East, specifically as Turkey's involvement in the Arab-Israeli conflict and the Syrian civil war.The third part introduces the characteristics, causes and influences of Turkish foreign policy from the perspective of strategic culture. From the perspective of strategic culture,Turkey's two major characteristics of diplomacy, first, from conservative to risky;second, conservatism and adventurism coexist. The reasons for this are the factors of the national ruling elite, the development situation in the Middle East, and the factors of development in the world.Regarding the impact,it is analyzed from both positive and negative aspects. It adapts to the international development situation, safeguards Turkey's national sovereignty, guarantees Turkey's own security, conforms to Turkey's national interests, and enhances Turkey's influence in the Middle East. From the negative impact,it is not conducive to enhancing Turkey's influence in the Middle East and affecting Turkey's status as a big country in the Middle East.At the same time,Turkey's multi-country relations with the Middle East have become tense, leaving them in an isolated embarrassing situation.
