Since its birth, the film has evolved into an independent art form, known as the "seventh art." The film combines the characteristics of other art forms, and at the same time breaks the shackles of other art forms that can only be transmitted through a single field such as sight or hearing.Through the "montage" film editing technique, the time and space are combined and artistically processed. It combines the feelings that the audience gets from the senses, giving them a means of expression that transcends other art forms. The art of film is more like a flesh-and-blood body. The narrative structure is the "skeleton" of the body.It is also a particularly important factor to judge when evaluating a film. This narrative is in the early days of film art,and the creative ideas and techniques are still in its infancy. In the big environment,it became the mainstream narrative method at that time.In 1916,the film "Intolerance " by director DW Griffith broke the linear narrative of the time. The film used an unprecedented editing technique to reorganize the four stories and shake the blue picture with the mother.Linking stories together as “adhesives” creates a precedent for nonlinear narrative structures. However,"the party and the same" as the originator of the nonlinear narrative structure, but did not allow the non-linear narrative structure to occupy a place in the film art.Until 1994,after the Golden Palm Award for the film "Pulp Fiction" with the circular narrative structure, this kind of non-linear narrative film that broke the conventional linear time and space received more and more attention. In this paper, the author explains the author's understanding and innovation of the circular narrative through the interpretation of the concept of circular narrative and the creative process and sentiment of the graduation film Gear.
