Jiangzhou was Xiongzhou in the Tang Dynasty,which was a county with frequent changes,and there were 11 counties under its jurisdiction in the largest time,roughly including Yuncheng region's Xinjiang,Jishan,Hejin,Wenxi,Jiangxian,Xiaxian,Yuanqu and Wanquan and Linfen region's Quwo,Houma,Xiangfen's Fencheng and Zhao Kang town and other places.Jiangzhou belonged to the Hedong Dao in Tang Dynasty,and it located in the south of Hedong Dao,where west to Chang'an,south to Luoyang and north to Taiyuan.Its unique geographical position maked Jiangzhou occupied an important military strategic position.The well-developed Fenhe navigation maked Jiangzhou became the earliest flood-drought wharf on the bank of Fenhe River.Jiangzhou delivered grain to Chang'an many times in Tang Dynasty,which also promoted the trade between Jiangzhou and Chang'an.The geographical environment of Jiangzhou laid a certain foundation for its development.The mountains and rivers in Jiangzhou were rich in resources,and the climate was warm and humid,which promoted the development of agricultural production and tributes.These advantages provided certain conditions for Jiangzhou to become an important grain-producing area in Hedong region,and promoted the growth of Jiangzhou's financial economy.Jiangzhou had a certain population advantage in Tang Dynasty.Compared with the main prefectures in the south of Hedong Dao and other nine Xiongzhous,the population density of Jiangzhou occupied the first place,which provided sufficient labor force for the development of various industries in Jiangzhou.In the Tang Dynasty,Jiangzhou was also an important place for coined money,no matter from the north or the whole country,The amount of Jiangzhou mints occupied the first place,which was more prominent than Northern Song Dynasty.In the Tang Dynasty,in regard to officials of Jiangzhou,according to existing data,I counted 107 Cishi,22 state chief officers,and 56 county chief officials.Many officials were promoted significantly by their political achievements,and I found other four Jiangzhou Cishi on the basis of Yu Xianhao'study.Jiangzhou culture and education flourished in Tang Dynasty.According to the available data,there were 13 talented persons in Jiangzhou imperial examination.The number of talents was second only backward Puzhou in Hedong Dao.In addition,there were many Buddhistmonasteries in Jiangzhou in Tang Dynasty.At present,there were 53 Buddhist monasteries in Jiangzhou in Tang Dynasty.In terms of time and space,the characteristics of Buddhist monasteries were more in early stage and less in later stage,more in the north and less in the south.There were many kinds of local folk beliefs,and had a certain utilitarian color.Jiangzhou had a large number of talented people in Tang Dynasty,and had the characteristics of the emergence of family style.The contributions of aristocrats and non-aristocrats to Tang Dynasty were mainly focused on politics,military affairs and literature.
