In order to effectively control carbon dioxide emissions and weaken the greenhouse effect, the EU has made a commitment to reduce greenhouse gases in shipping.Greenhouse gas emissions from shipping have been the focus of worldwide attention.Meanwhile, the text translation of the impact assessment of shipping emission reduction provides a reference for the relevant documents in the future,as well as theoretical and practical reference for the translators in the corresponding maritime field. In the process of translation,I find that the technique of sentence transformation can be used to restructure the original sentence so as to make the translation conform to the habits of Chinese expression. In the shipping emission reduction impact assessment document, the sentence structure is complex.Studying sentence conversion is meaningful in giving an accessible and fluent translation. In this paper,Catford's transformation theory is applied to transform the clauses in the text into sentence patterns.Subject clauses, object clauses, appositive clauses, adverbial clauses and attributive clauses are transformed into non-subject clauses,subject-predicate structures,pre-attributive and adverbial clauses according to conjunctive transformation, and attributive clauses are transformed into structure of coordination,so as to make the translation accurate, valid and consistent to the original text.
