With the deepening of China's social development, more and more foreign classic children's literature works are flowing into our country, and children's literature works,as the enlightenment of edifying children's sentiments, are increasingly valued by people. As an important part of literary translation, children's literary translation has also received unprecedented attention. At present, although China has made some progress in children's literature translation, there are still some shortcomings and room for progress due to the late start of the study of children's literature translation. This paper is a translation report based on the translation practice series of a work of children's literature Jack and the Geniuses. As a science fiction novel written for teenagers, the words in the series of Jack and the Geniuses are concise, humorous and lively. In the process of translating such subjects,we should pay more attention to children's cognitive level and comprehension ability,so that the response of the target language readers to the translation is as consistent as that of the source language readers to the source text.In order to achieve such a goal,I start from the point of view of Nida's dynamic equivalence theory, which emphasizes the equivalence of reaction more than the equivalence of form.Through the analysis of the original text in terms of words, sentences and paragraphs,I use some translation techniques such as paraphrase and division to analyze specific examples. In this way,I try to sum up the feasible methods to achieve dynamic equivalence in literary translation. In the process of translating English children's literature novels into Chinese, influenced by the sentence structure of the source language, the target language is more westernized in grammar structure and language expression. Therefore,I need to break away from the shackles of the original text to modify the tone of story telling for children on the basis of the first draft of translation,so that the expression of the translation can more cater to the target readers. This is also the new insight of this paper through the combination of theory and translation practice. As a theory applicable to literary translation, dynamic equivalence theory is also applicable to children's literary translation.I hope that by analyzing the application of dynamic equivalence theory in children's literary translation practice,it can provide reference and help for more children's literary translation works in the future.
