At present,English teaching level is related to the development of English education and quality,as a new era of English teacher professional development only continue to improve their English level,can satisfy the needs of the world's progress and era development,to meet the needs of the new curriculum reform,promote the improvement of English teaching,help students develop English language comprehensive quality of ascension,make teachers' own research,expert,developing a new type of teachers.I have been teaching English for 13 years.Based on my understanding of peers and the need for professional development,I started this research.This paper by Qingdao Licang district junior middle school English teachers' professional development present situation as the research subject,through questionnaire investigation,interview,data analysis and other means to get to know the present situation of the junior middle school English teachers' professional development,the comprehensive analysis of junior middle school English teachers' professional development needs,and existing problems,and to explore effective ways and means to promote English teachers' professional development.The specific problems to be solved in this study are: 1.What is the current status of the professional development of junior middle school English teachers and what are the existing problems? 2.What is the demand of junior middle school English teachers for their professional development? 3.What are the factors influencing the professional development of junior middle school English teachers? 4.How to promote the professional development of English teachers?The subjects of this study are all front-line English teachers in Licang district,including all English teachers from nine public junior high schools and four private junior high schools in Licang district.Sixty-four English teachers from 13 schools in Licang district were interviewed by questionnaire.In addition,a questionnaire survey was conducted among 200 junior high school students to obtain first-hand information,so as to provide rich,objective and accurate data for the project.This study analyzes the necessity and importance of teachers' professional development based on the lifelong education thought and Maslow's hierarchy of needs.Starting from the analysis of junior middle school English teachers' professional development needs,it takes thecurrent situation of junior middle school English teachers' professional development in Licang District of Qingdao City as the research subject,through questionnaire survey,data analysis and other forms to understand the current situation of junior middle school English teachers' professional development.Through the research,it points out the effective ways to help junior middle school English teachers achieve their professional development,which is conducive to accelerating the pace of junior middle school teachers' professional development.This study finds that the professional title structure of junior middle school English teachers is unreasonable,which urgently needs the coordination of government departments.Teachers themselves hope to improve their professional development,but sometimes they do not have enough time and energy to devote to their professional development due to various work and family influences.In view of this,I put forward relevant professional development strategies mainly from four aspects,hoping to improve the status quot of teacher professional development and better enhance their own ability and level : the development of reflective teaching,cooperative learning,using a variety of research and training methods and appeal to the community and schools and other support to create a good environment for the professional development of teachers.
