At the beginning of the 19 th century,English was becoming an essential subject in basic education in China.As the conductor of educational activities,the primary English teachers,their overall quality will directly affect the overall quality of education and the development of education.So,the teachers' professional development attract more and more attention.Therefore,if we know the present situation of primary English teachers' professional development,then analysis the present problems of English teachers' professional development,finally,provide some effective countermeasures for primary English teachers' professional development,it will have a strong theoretical and practical value.Based on lots of domestic and foreign literatures,this thesis selects primary English teachers in Hebei District of Tianjin to investigate.It is aimed at finding the present situation,the difficulty and demand of primary English teachers' professional development.The result shows that: At present,compared with the traditional subjects,Chinese and mathematics,the primary school English is lack of professional recognition.Although the English teachers in primary school have the needs of professional development,they are suffering from the lack of systematic guidance,excessive work pressure,lack of energy and some other problems.This thesis makes a summary and puts forward some suggestions: the education authorities and primary schools should improve the professional social status of primary English teachers,and provide corresponding social support and theoretical support.Optimize the evaluation and inspiration mechanism to promote teachers' self-improvement,also can promote the professional development of primary English teachers.
