The translation material is excerpted from the second and third chapters of The Robot and Us:An 'Antidisciplinary'Perspective on the Scientific and Social Impacts of Robotics written by Maria Chiara Carrozza.In Chapter 2,the author introduces the development of robotics based on her own research experience.In Chapter 3,the author introduces the socialization of robot.This book is of great significance to the study of the relationship between robot and human.The translation report consists of four parts.The first part is the description of the translation task,which concerns the source of the materials,the introduction of the author,the introduction of the work and the significance of the topic.The second part is about the description of the translation process,' which relates to the pre-translation preparation,translation process and post-translation proofreading.The third part is case analysis,in which the translator classifies the translation difficulties and summarizes the translation skills through the typical case from the aspect of vocabulary,syntax and discourse analysis.The fourth part is the summary of translation practice,including translation summary and prospects.This translation practice acquainted the author with the challenges a translator is likely to confront in translation,especially a "green horn" in a specific field.To be a qualified translator,one must first have a deep understanding of the relevant expertise in relation to the source language material and consult a large number of relevant professional references to ensure the accuracy of technical terms.Secondly,it is necessary to continuously modify and improve the translation.
