Zhou Pu,who called himself as Jian su or Tai pu,was a native of Tonglu,Muzhou. He was born in Emperor Xianzong of Tang, died in Emperor Xizong of Tang Qianfu six years(879).About his works,The complete poetry of Tang Dynasty has one volume, and the supplement contains five poems. The complete works of 100 poets of the Tang Dynasty which collected by Xi Qiyu included a volume of poems of Zhou Jian Su and also twenty-nine poems from Wen Yuan Ying Hua.Zhou Pu's poems reflect the style of late Tang poetry to a certain extent.Poet early took an active attitude towords the world, and attended many social functions or wrote poems with the dignitaries. However,in the late Tang Dynasty, with social turmoil, external and internal troubles, the empire gradually collapsed, and the poet's poetry also had a change. The content of poetry is more related to the Buddhist, the recluse, the chanting things. From the point of view of its artistic characteristics, although the language of poetry is plain and simple, the poetic vision is eccentric and bitter. In addition, the current research on Zhou Pu mainly focuses on the textual research of his native place and the year of his death, and there is also a big gap in the research and collation of his life and poems. Therefore, this paper aims at a comprehensive textual research on the poet's intercourse and life,so as to proofread and annotate the poet's poems more accurately, and provide a complete edition of Zhou Pu's poems for the academia.
